Commerce graduate, chartered accountant, businessman. I've worked in professional services for 25 of my 35 year working life but it was probably the 10 years out of it that shaped my views on business most significantly. During that time I learned what it means to operate a business, to come up with the plans, to make the investments, to take the risks, to bear the responsibilities. Since 1992 I've been applying that experience with my professional skills and knowledge to working with private business clients. My personal focus has always been on making those businesses more successful. I've also been running my own business, on my own, with a partner and for the past 15 years with multiple partners. Over that time we bought, sold, merged, de-merged, rebranded and transitioned partners in and out. We also grew by 650%. We made plenty of mistakes along the way and we learnt from them.
