To protect the public, the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists regulates the profession of agrology ensuring its safe, competent and ethical practice. Agrologists are science-based professionals in agriculture, bioresources, food and the environment who responsibly teach, provide knowledge and advice, and conduct research. This growing profession addresses many of today's critical issues, in production agriculture, food safety, bioresource health and environmental quality.Members of the Institute work to provide knowledge and advice that is objective, competent and ethical. Due to the changing dynamics of the profession of agrology, the Institute's members are committed to life-long learning through continued professional development. The Institute seeks to:- Promote & increase the knowledge, skill & proficiency of its members in the practice of agrology.- Protect the public in all matters relating to agrology and to improve agrology services and agrology education.- Increase public assurance of the safety of the food supply, while promoting the wise use of natural resources.- To ensure the proficiency and competency of agrologists.The Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists is responsible for enforcement of the Saskatchewan Agrologists Act and defines professional standards for individuals practising agrology.
