Saunter Home Wellness Club got it's name from Thoreau's poem Walking. In it Thoreau describes the pilgrims that use to walk through France noting that their holy destination got them the name Saunterers by combining the phrase: à la sainte terre (to the holy land).American Artist David Irwin founded the club in 2021 after embarking on his very own divine journey when he moved full-time into the Desert in 2019 with only his van, a few sets of clothes and his dream of creating space for himself and others.Saunter Home is a place for David and his friends to teach classes and host others to aid them in finding their own peace, solace and contentment.A portion of every dollar from all stays and classes goes toward grants, residencies and education all aimed at artists from around the world to make their art their full-time jobSaunter Home Wellness Club is currently going through the process to become a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and will begin taking bookings this winter.
