Sauter von Moos is an architecture studio established inBasel and as of late based in Miami. Directed by Charlottevon Moos (1977, Zurich) and Florian Sauter (1978, Bregenz),it engages in work on all scales, both in theory andpractice. Their most important works are the House with aTree that received the Swiss Architecture Award for ‘BestFirst Building,' the contribution ‘Sonsbeek Readymade' forthe 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial, the Villa Hammer inBasel, and currently a series of tropical house studies inMiami. As co-editors and authors they have published aseries of books including Earth Water Air Fire: The FourElements and Architecture (2014), achtung: die Landschaft(2015), Painting the Sky Black: Louis Kahn and the Architectonizationof Nature (2018), and In Miami in the 1980s:The Vanishing Architecture of a 'Paradise Lost' (2022).Besides their practical activities, both partners have beenengaged in teaching and research, amongst others at ETHZurich, the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio, TUMunich, Porto Academy, Cornell AAP, and Harvard GSD.Since 2018, Sauter von Moos are teaching at the Universityof Miami School of Architecture.
