Public Relations & Communications - New York, New York, United States
Save The Internships connects talented, diverse interns and entry-level grads with advertising agencies, marketing firms, design studios, and PR agencies as well as brands and industry organizations. When COVID-19 hit, agencies and brands started shutting down internships, ad pro turned ad prof Rebecca Rivera knew something had to be done. So she challenged Mona Gonzalez of Pereira O'Dell to convince her agency leadership to hire two interns and call on the industry to step up; to keep its promise to hire the diverse, inclusive talent that represents the very people being marketed to. The students you see in our program are in CUNY public colleges and universities. They're well trained and very motivated but have been hit the hardest by the pandemic. They've lost jobs that help keep their families afloat. So they need paid internships and entry-level jobs now more than ever. They represent a diversity of race and ethnicity, of gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, age, physical abilities, and more. Since Save The Internships launched in early May 2020 we've helped place 20 talented students and recent grads in internships. So far, four of them have been offered full-time jobs. If you'd like to help us keep the program going, please reach out to meet and interview our super qualified STI candidatse for a virtual internship or entry-level job. An investment in their future is an investment in the future of our NYC community.
