Patient Health Advocates is a collaborative effort between student advocates and UCLA physicians whose mission is to connect underserved patients to helpful resources in their communities that can improve their health and wellbeing. Advocates are paired with residents and attendings to help improve patient care. Patient Health Advocates shadows residents and attendings at UCLA's Witherbee Foundation Children's Health Center, Medicine-Pediatrics Comprehensive Care Center and Internal Medicine Suite in order to carry out social casework with patients of all sociodemographic statuses, income levels, ethnicities, and ages.
