ScreenLake offers objective screen logging technology built by and for UX researchers. Founder Daniel Muise, current Stanford PhD Candidate and former researcher at multiple technology companies, is aiming to fill the broad information gap UX researchers face, between accurate-but-shallow platform data analysis and rich-but-tiny qualitative interviews. ScreenLake draws on concepts in cutting-edge media psychology research to offer the clearest possible picture of what users are doing on their screens. We use fully consented passive screen recording, in return for compensation and personalized usage analysis. Our aim is to license an end-to-end data collection and organization technology to firms with UX research goals, such that they can build their own panels of recording uploaders to fit their own needs and constraints. Want to know how a feature is being used? Just watch what your uploaders do. Want to know how your app or tool fits into the wild, idiosyncratic content streams on smartphones? Or conduct feature-specific competitive analysis? ScreenLake can help you sift through hours of real behavior and unpack how users navigate and engage with your product, service, or advertisement. Our privacy protocols and specialized design allow technology companies to feel secure about the data they collect through our system; we block out notifications and follow the privacy goals of individual uploaders. ScreenLake is currently seed-funded and aiming to expand. We're seeking cofounders with talent in data analysis, database building, and/or UX research management. Interested individuals are encouraged to reach out.
