The SDG Society Project, partially funded by the US Department of State as a part of the YES Alumni Grants, and being pre-incubated at Nirmaan, IIT Madras, focuses on raising awareness and inducing action among school students regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are spearheaded by the United Nations. In consultation with educationists and SDG experts, we are working to design, develop and carry out training modules and workshops on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the school students in and across India. Our focus is on contextualising the SDGs in the lived experience of the students through getting them to come up with small problems in their neighbourhood and then solving them. As a part of our long term strategy, we are looking towards creating a culture of youth engagement in developmental work in schools.
