Seeds of Love Collective was named and founded to facilitate collaborative and meaningful relationships among teachers, children and families working together to nurture our academic and social-emotional development in connection with nature. The Open Wilderness Literacy and Science (OWLS) program exists to offer authentic, hands-on learning experiences outdoors. It is being created as an alternative educational experience/outdoor school for a multi age elementary group to connect, grow, and learn together in nature. They will meet 3 days a week in the beautiful Tilden Regional Park. Teacher Brooke works with Kindergarteners through 5th graders to nurture caring relationships among empathetic team members while facilitating independence and collaboration. Nature inspires units of inquiry! Literacy skills are practiced and strengthened alongside deep investigations into plants, animals, and fungi. Scientific knowledge is expanded upon through guided reading, novel exploration, and interactive writing that supports academic and social-emotional development.
