Hospital & Health Care - Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
There are about 550 million people in India who could have their vision restored with a simple pair of eyeglasses. In monetary context, that's an annual loss of $37 billion in the Indian economy due to vision problems and their impact on productivity. And more than 75% of vision loss and blindness can be easily prevented with extremely low cost interventions, like eyeglasses or cataract surgeries.SeHak aims to connect low-income residents living in the slums of Mumbai with these low-cost yet transformative interventions. Specifically, we provide free or subsidized eyeglasses and eye check ups, and cataract surgeries to residents in Dharavi.
