Semi-Toned is the University of Exeter's all-male a cappella group. Winners of BBC2's 'The Choir: Gareth's Best in Britain' (2017) and the Voice Festival UK (2015), Finalists of 'Sing: Ultimate A Cappella' on Sky One, and International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Semi-Finalists (2015, 2016). They are the only a cappella group ever to have won a Bobby Award at the Edinburgh Fringe, receiving multiple 5 star reviews. They tour annually to the United States and also perform regularly around the United Kingdom. Every member of the group is a full time student at the University of Exeter, and the group is run entirely by its student committee. This includes all business administration, finances, music, choreography and publicity.Semi-Toned was founded in September 2010 as a barbershop quintet, but quickly grew in both popularity and size. Semi-Toned is now a world-famous 12 person group which has released several albums, viral music videos, and been featured alongside celebrities such as Gareth Malone, Cat Deeley and Olly Murs.
