The Senate of the Economy is a global leadership network community for individuals in business, academia and politics who want to create a positive change worldwide. Founded in Germany in 2009 as an advocate for inclusive economic growth the Senate has evolved into one of the most impactful and values-based exclusive economic leadership forums in Europe. Since North America and Europe share common ethical and democratic values, the Senate of has expanded to the United States. We are a non-profit and our partner organizations in Europe are comprised of the International Senate. The Honorary President of the International Senate is Muhammad Yunus, recipient of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize.Senate members ("Senators") are strong solution-minded and action oriented executives, company owners, policy makers and academics. The number of Senators is limited. Invited to join are individuals who are recognized leaders and have demonstrated integrity, alignment in sustainable businesses, education and social responsibility.•We are comprised of a well-balanced circle of peers with independent minds, striving for the common good, but are not tied to any special interests.•We bring together business, political and academic leaders in the US and Europe who wish to make a difference•We support policy makers developing solutions for the key global challenges of today and tomorrow•We address critical industry and cross-industry issues globally•We promote exchange and international cooperation between our Senate family and beyond•We organize and host high-level global leadership events • We strive for economic and environmental development including sensible solutions for fighting climate change•We work for positive development in the United States and abroad •We believe that economic, social and environmental issues can best be solved when companies, political leaders and academics work together through innovative partnerships
