He has numerous ties to the industry as he details below:"My story regarding senior care starts back as a teenager. One of my first jobs was as a CNA in a nursing home in my late teens. My immediate and extended family have always been involved in senior care. In fact, my mother has been working as an in-home care aide for 20 years, 13 years with the same company. After a year and a half at the nursing home, I worked as a CNA in a large hospital for two years before joining the Marine Corps to become an Arabic Linguist. After my military service and a few jobs later, I began working for Quest Diagnostics in Sacramento. It was then that I decided that I wanted to become an entrepreneur. My first business was actually the purchase of a video game store in Carmichael. Though I enjoyed the business aspect of it, I didn't feel like I was doing much to really contribute to others. So, I began researching new business ventures. A former co-worker of mine was in the process of opening a franchise location with Senior Helpers and I was impressed with the organization. They were very detailed, and the mission and values of the company spoke to me. Looking for some insight from inside the industry, I turned to my mother. I was struck by how passionate she was for her job, and after visiting one of her clients, how valuable and beloved she was to the client. It was then that I realized that this is an industry in which I and our caregivers can make a real difference in the lives of our local seniors."Prior to Senior Helpers Terry spent 20 years involved in a wide range of customer-service, training, and sales businesses. His experience in project and people management, negotiations, presentations, and financial modeling provided a strong foundation from which Terry built a business founded upon professionalism and second-to-none customer service. This approach carries over to each and every one of his clients at Senior Helpers.Terry holds an Associate's degree in Arabic, Bachelor's degree in Multi-Disciplinary Studies, and a Master's degree in Business Administration.
