Sew Beary Special is a sewing school and quilt shoppe founded in 1993 and located in Brooklyn, NY. All classes are taught by Marcie Brenner, a Master Certified Sewing Educator. Emphasis is placed on individualized instruction, getting the student from the I can't to the I can, tapping into their creativity. Supporting the community of sewists and quilters is the main goal. Additionally, Marcie provides workshops at local and national sewing and craft events. She earned degrees from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Apparel Design (AAS), and Brooklyn College in Home Economics and Women's Studies (BA). She has extensive teaching experience (33 years) from college level courses to being a NYC DOE licensed teacher. Marcie also worked in the apparel Industry as a Technical Designer (15 years), Technical Writer (2 years).
