I provide data science consulting in biotech, biopharma, and tech. My areas of domain expertise include discovery and targeted proteomics, protein science, biologics and pharmaceuticals, enzymology, kinetics, protein modifications, systems biology, personalized medicine, biophysical chemistry, mass spectrometry, bioinformatics, data standards and ontology, as well as some experience with metabolomics, lipidomics, transcriptomics, and genomics. I learn new areas quickly. While I have many of the typical data scientist skills – Python, R, Excel mastery, machine learning, statistics, text mining, NLP, etc., my differentiating value to you will be my less typical skills and breadth of experiences. Spending my Ph.D. in the lab deeply ingrained the scientific method, which leads me explore data seeking to define and test hypotheses in quantitative and statistically sound ways. My years in product management taught me see the big picture and business drivers. I have taken a product (ProteinPilot) from drawings on a white board to 5th generation commercially successful product over the course of a decade, serving many roles – visionary architect, designing and validating algorithms, patenting, scientific collaborations, beta programs, and giving countless scientific and marketing presentations. Participation in data standard and journal publication guideline efforts and years of direct customer interaction have taught me about leadership, collaboration, and diplomacy. As a technology evaluation and validation authority at a reagent and instrument manufacturing company, I have over a decade of experience distilling mountains of data on new technologies and competitor comparisons into actionable conclusions and presenting my results to stakeholders. My artistic past drives me to create results visualizations and presentations that are aesthetically clean and pleasing.
