Shakespearience is a non profit organization dedicated to cultivating self-respect, engendering written and cultural literacy, and creating true confidence, empathy, compassion and creative spirit in our students. In short, our goal is to change lives through the power of William Shakespeare, the greatest writer in the English language and the world's most outstanding dramatist. Shakespearience currently works with students from age 5 to 18, with a primary focus on Grades 4 through 8. For younger children, the focus is on distilling the basic stories behind the plays. By 3rd and 4th grades, the curriculum begins to focus on individual texts and includes scene study from specific plays. Shakespearience has several programs currently running at schools in San Francisco, Alameda and Marin Counties. All can be easily adopted to any school curriculum. We can tailor curriculum to meet your school's needs; from a more academic two-week workshop, all the way to a year round Shakespeare Program, or to the visceral transcendence of a full production. Shakespearience allows teachers to make classic stories and archetypes relatable in a contemporary landscape. Experiential learning gives students the opportunity to dive head first into their own emotional life and have that experience inform the choices they make with regards to these classic texts.Shakespearience endeavors to deepen learner's understanding of the present day world through the timelessness of Shakespeare's words.Experience professional, award-winning classical actors in an intimate classroom setting and watch the faces of the students come to life. It is nothing short of electric. Shakespearience is the experience. Schedule a demo or request a video of existing classes. Rates vary per individual curriculum.
