Shanghai Silport Golf Club and its sister course – Tiger Beach Golf Links in Shandong Province – are both invested by Taiwan's Lite-On Group. The first 27 holes were designed by former US Tour professional Bob J. Martin. An additional nine, created by American designer Roger Packard, expanded the layout to 36 holes.The design of Silport makes full use of the natural landforms of the water areas found in southern China. In its unique setting, the long grass areas form the difficult rough, while the changing wind directions and undulating fairways provide players with a most challenging golfing experience. The beautiful scenery of Dian-Shan Lake adds a peaceful backdrop to the layout.In having hosted the Volvo China Open a record seven times, Shanghai Silport Golf Club is recognized as the "Home of the China Open". The top-ranked championship course, featuring ancient stone sculptures of animals, both real and mythical, from the Ming and Qing dynasties, is known for its outstanding course condition and services.
