There is nothing like being able to communicate with your baby before they can talk! I can help you learn how to do exactly that! I started teaching ASL to my daughter when she was 7 months old and watched her available vocabulary (signed and spoken) grow exponentially. Since then, I've taken ASL classes and training with the Signing Time Academy, where I am now certified as a Baby Sign Instructor.Using curriculum based on Rachel Coleman's original (and fantastic) Signing Time songs (as you may have seen on PBS or Nick Jr.), I will give you and your baby the tools you need to start communicating.I am Shannon Connaire, former creative services employee at Ernst & Young LLP. I love to use my graphic design background to create supplemental materials for classes. My daughter Elsie also participates in classes when she is available and is a great help. Often the littler ones become much more engaged in her signing than they do in us grown folks!I also have three older children, including one with autism and two with learning disabilities. I have seen ASL help them all and would love the chance to share it with other families! The next session of classes in my home will start in February 2011 and will be open to little ones three and under with the grownup of their choice. Private classes are also available and special workshops will be scheduled throughout 2011. Hope to sign with you soon!
