Meghan Lavery & J'aime Lizotte, both natives of Maine, met on a beach in 1999. Here they formed a friendship while making clothes, as fashion was not offering what their minds were imagining. Meghan went on to pursue her interest in form, first through her study of jewelry design and metals in Maine. She later specialized in tailoring at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC where she received her BFA. Her apprenticeship with AsFour furthered her craft and patternmaking skills. J'aime developed her love of clean lines by studying graphic design and sculpture, later attending the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston to pursue a BFA in fashion design. Once in New York, J'aime found herself apprenticing with Armani Exchange in men's design, knits & sweaters. In the Summer of 2009 in Brooklyn, New York the reunion of these two, created a third- the label SHAPE SHIFTR; an investigation of the constant change in silhouette and form motivated by geometry.
