E-learning - Kampala, Central Region, Uganda
Sharebility Uganda is crowdsourcing digital educational resources to aid the new trend of ICT integration, digital pedagogy, homeschooling and e-learning in schools. We have established a countrywide network of educationists who create, upload, recommend and discuss the suitable teaching and learning resources. We believe that by pooling resources and taking advantage of each other's expertise, learning providers can build adequate capacity, reduce redundancy in infrastructure and reduce costs.By pooling resources and taking advantage of each other's expertise, learning providers can build adequate capacity, reduce redundancy in infrastructure and reduce costs. The design of a distributed heterogeneous educational resource sharing platform enables the inter-connection, inter-communication and sharing, reduces the cost of educational resources and speeds up the process of access to resources for teaching and learning. Consequently, the time and cost that would have been incurred by an institution is sharable amongst the partners through a give-and-take commitment. This project is in line with international efforts like the Open Educational Resources (OERs) movement which connect networks of educationists to freely share resources for facilitating the human right to access high-quality education.
