Shaw Water Engineering Ltd. (Shaw Technologies) was established in 2000 to provide bespoke water engineering solutions to UK based water companies. In 2005 the company decided to focus on R&D activities to develop solutions to detect parasitical organisms in public water that to date has resulted in the development of an automated Cryptosporidium monitoring system. In 2009 Shaw Technologies and raised £800,000 investment from parequity (Angel investors) and Scottish Enterprise Co-investment Fund to fully develop and launch CRYPTO TECT to the global market. Since 2005 Shaw Technologies has won several prestigious awards including a 2006 Scottish Executive SMART Award and in 2008 the John Logie Baird Award for Innovation and the prestigious Rushlight Water Innovation Award.The technology applied in the development of CRYPTO TECT has an extensive range of application for the detection of other parasitical organisms.
