Healthcare Facility/Healthcare Services - Sheffield, ENG, UK
The University of Sheffield World Health Organisation Simulation (SheffWHO) is an interdisciplinary and experiential learning conference - the first of its kind in Sheffield and second in the UK. Persons simulate proceedings of the World Health Assembly (WHA), as held at the World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters in Geneva, through various delegate roles as State Actors and Non-State Actors (NGOs, Pharma and Media). SheffWHO offers the opportunity for students, alumni and professionals from all disciplines to gather and engage within a global health topic. Contributing to interdisciplinary and experiential learning in global health, delegates from ALL DISCIPLINES (not just science/health) are encouraged to participate and NO prior experience in global health debate is required to participate. Delegates discuss, co-operate, and negotiate with other stakeholders to produce resolution papers addressing the simulation theme, as an important global health priority. We aim to ensure documents prepared from this conference to have a real-world impact - including the publication of position papers with the University of Sheffield's School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) journals and transfer of approved resolutions to WHO Headquarters to demonstrate the creative capacity of the next generation of global health leaders.
