Sheldon Calvary Camp offers children, young adults, and families an environment of spiritual growth. We encourage reflection and foster deep relationships. We seek to live into a Christian community by modeling the acceptance of individual differences, by valuing all of God's creation, and by helping campers to integrate faith into everyday life.We are the summer camp of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh founded in 1936 in memory of Harry E. Sheldon. Our principle program is a week-long resident (overnight) summer camp where we welcome 200 campers. We also run a two-week and half-week resident program as well as a weekday day camp.We hire between 65 and 70 young adults (17+ years old) who help us create a safe environment for children where they can be free to be themselves and learn to form friendships in the absence of technology.Sheldon Calvary Camp has been accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) since 1993 and our senior staff regularly attend the ACA Tri-state Conference, the largest annual professional conference in the field. We are staffed year-round by four individuals and our offices are generally open during regular business hours.
