Sherri Cook, CMP, CMM, CTM, CL is President & CEO of Sherri Cook & Associates LLC (SC&A). She has a 30+ year proven track record in site selection, supplier negotiations, contracts and all planning aspects for meetings, conventions, trade shows, product launches, incentive trips and events (including project manager for Ross Perot's 1995 United We Stand National Conference and 1996 Reform Party National Conventions). Clients claim that no one provides better Cost-Savings for their organizations and flawless planning. Prior to starting SC&A in 1992, Sherri worked for an Association, a Corporation and a Meetings, Conventions and Incentives company for 10 years. She is has been a member of Meeting Professionals International for 23 years, served on the MPI DFW Chapter for 4 years, was selected as MPI International's first "Tomorrow's Leader of MPI" and is an industry leader with many strategic partners and alliances. A frequent speaker on industry meeting planning issues, Sherri has spoken on topics some of which include: "Expert Meeting Planning Panel", "Negotiation", "The Meeting Profession", "Ethics", "Food & Beverage Planning", "How To – Meeting Planning Basics and Tips", "Outsourcing" and as an Expert Planner on various panels. She has been hired to train other meeting planners as well as designing meeting planning and trade show curriculum for Richland College's 2 year accredited Travel and Tourism program. Sherri's specialty is contracts protection, suppliers negotiation and educating her clients, planners and suppliers as a meeting planning coach. Sherri's credentials include: Certified Meeting Professional, Certified Meeting Manager, Competent Toastmaster, Competent Leader, Convention and Trade Show Manager through American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and Tour Director through the International Tour Management Institute. Mentoring Richland College students is a passion of Sherri's to coach and train future meeting managers.
