Tonight, more than half a million people in the U.S. will be homeless, and as many as 57% of the women will become homeless because of domestic abuse. Exacerbating the situation is the reality that 98% of all domestic violence cases involve some form of financial abuse. At Shine Foundation, we aim to address this issue, by delivering intensive financial and vocational workshops at various domestic violence agencies in Baltimore and NYC. In doing so, we strive to help homeless survivors of abuse achieve financial independence.
