Alternative Medicine - Columbus, Ohio, United States
My approach to Yoga Therapy is anchored by a deep appreciation of its historical & cultural roots, timeless wisdom, and emerging body of efficacious research. Because I am also a Licensed, Independent Social Worker (LISW), my Yoga Therapy practice is informed by my clinical evidence- and research-based skills, knowledge, and case studies. While at once invitational, soulful, and holistic, clients will also find supportive and mindful elements from my clinical practice, including DBT (skills), CBT (challenging thoughts; recognizing the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; identifying cognitive distortions), and ACT (defusing from thoughts; reframing, accepting, and being with less-familiar / less-pleasant emotions).Because I am familiar and comfortable with using expressive art as a treatment modality, a client's program may make use of expressive arts elements. My areas of specialty include:+Eating Disorders+Trauma & PTSD+Anxiety/Depression+Addiction+Aging with gratitude, courage, and grace+Re|Connecting to one's body (e.g. treating conditions ranging from over-exercise to body dysmorphia to pain)
