Shore House is a unique program offering meaningful social, educational and employment opportunities to restore hope, independence and self-worth for people living with mental illness. Participants in our programs are referred to as ‘members' not patients or clients. Unlike a hospital, clinic or other institution working with mental illness, Shore House, in following the Clubhouse model, is run by club members in alliance with staff as equal partners. Together they run Shore House operations working side-by-side, with the purpose of enhancing the Shore House community, increasing personal fulfillment, and reducing isolation so they are able to rejoin the worlds of work, family and friendship.
