Shuang Wen Academy Network (SWAN) is a non-profit organization that has been serving the Lower East Side community of New York City for more than 20 years. Starting out as an after-school program with 40 students, SWAN has now expanded to three academic programs: Preschool Program, After-School Program, and Summer Camp Program. Serving students from ages 2 to 8th grade across diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds, SWAN has helped students develop proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, acquire a greater understanding of Chinese culture, and bridge the gap of the evolving culture of the Lower East Side community.
