Apparel & Fashion - Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Sí Fairtrade Fashion was born from a simple belief that every entrepreneur should have access to the international market regardless of race, gender and socioeconomic status. Two years ago we met an Indigenous Mayan woman named Clementina who wanted to send her children to school along with 35 other women in their cooperative. However, the group lacked access to the international market and innovative design techniques. So we soon partnered together to help bring them a sustainable source of income and get their products into the global market. Since then our network has been grown and we are now helping over seven different groups throughout Guatemala and over 120 artisans and their families. We carry a variety of goods including handmade leather shoes and boots, handwoven scarves, kimonos, purses, home decor and upcycled products and more. We are committed to providing quality handmade goods that support local communities in Rural Guatemala.
