Side Project Academy's mission is to help busy techies build. We run Side Project Club, a weekly hack night for busy techies in 3 branches across 2 cities. And Side Project Academy - A series of workshops and courses for busy techies, comprised of short courses based on hands-on projects at Side Project Club. Activity is directed towards senior developers employed at leading companies, but naturally appeals to younger students, and talents between jobs who are looking to build their portfolios. This balance, together with the project's partnership with local tech communities, helps it succeed. Side Project Academy is an award-winning project, and has won the WeWork Creator Awards in 2018 (under its first name "Hack JLM") for its project to help build software for nonprofits ("Society Labs"), and Facebook's Community Leadership Program grant in 2019. The project is currently a subsidiary of Jerusalem tech community nonprofit Made in Jerusalem (R.A).
