Siendo Naturaleza (Being Nature) is a life project of regenerative learning and living, situated in the Tiracu Valley at the edge of Cordillera Escalera, Peru's first regional conservation area.We are guided by the values Love, Learn, Regenerate and Serve.2020 Initiatives and Projects:*During the whole month of February, in collaboration with multiple stakeholders we ran a creative summer camp, "Vacaciones Creativas", holding learning spaces for 45 primary school children of the valley.*In March of 2020, for 3 weeks we hosted the placement module for Schumacher College's 2019-2020 cohort of the MA in Ecological Design Thinking.*From April to August we lived in community and communion with the land. As a team of 6 we:-Built prototypes of small structures: compost toilet, Humanure space, storage for a bank of materials, wood workshop, the Dragonfly (multi purpose space), the Araña (design studio).-Started to grow food: chacra (farm), huerto (orchard), nursery, organic compost.-Held participatory processes like councils, sessions to understand group decision-making, and design processes to understand needs and to develop infrastructure for the next Vacaciones Creativas.-Worked with 2 young girls, teaching and learning natural art, music, English and holistic science.-A Masters student completed his dissertation onsite: A Case Study of Ecological Design Thinking in the Amazon Cloud Forest.-Planted many native seeds, removed invasive grass, and witnessed the ongoing recovery of the forest.
