In Kazakhstan we work in a Joint-Venture with Kazakh private company Technogaz TOO with respect to 6 projects, initially the projects "Shymkent" and "Achisai". When reprocessing and rehabilitating mine dumps, slags, clinker, etc. we extract the valuable minerals and chemically and physically neutralise any residues. In doing so, we reduce and in some cases completely eliminate lead, cadmium, arsenic, etc. pollution of soil and water left over by previous mining activities in environmentally less responsible times. Our activity helps to protect human, animal and plant life. It also much improves the "look and feel" of landscapes. And it increases land values in the areas previously affected by poisonous tailings.
