SIFA Fireside works with homeless and vulnerably housed adults in Birmingham to provide immediate help and achieve lasting change. It is our vision that all homeless and vulnerably-housed people in Birmingham can access the services they need to achieve a more stable, healthier life.SIFA Fireside operates the main Day Centre facilities in Birmingham for homeless and vulnerably housed adults. We are open 5 days a week to help those in crisis, providing practical help and emotional support. We see 150 people each day at our Drop In in Digbeth – over 2,600 individuals a year. We support some of the city's most marginalised adults, many of whom have multiple and complex needs. SIFA Fireside addresses these needs, by providing individual and group support in a trusted environment, providing support in a crisis as well as working with people over time. At our Drop In we provide immediate support such as food, showers, clothing and accommodation advice. We then help people to engage with support services, develop skills and confidence, and to achieve a more stable and settled lifestyle. The services we provide are free and confidential. We have a training programme that includes courses in: - Conflict resolution: working with people with complex needs (COMING SOON) - Alcohol and drug awareness (also available as separate training courses) - Equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion: legislation, implications for service delivery - Homelessness and positive action - New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) formally known as legal highs - Safeguarding, boundaries and confidentialitySee our website www.sifafireside.co.uk for more details.
