Sift Design Solutions (Sift) is a design thinking research firm that works closely with people invested in the situation to tackle problems and discover opportunities. As a people-centered firm, we learn what people desire through design research. This research takes multiple approaches to gain a deep understanding of people's latent needs. By including stakeholders in research, solution development and refinement, the solutions are appropriate to the situation and will have a longer lasting effect.This design thinking approach allows designers to take in all the information available and see many options for solutions. Focusing on idea building and rapidly prototyping, Sift experiments early and often to learn from what's working and what's not working. This is possible by creating a culture which separates idea generating from idea selecting. Taking away judgement during idea generating eliminates a fear of saying something "wrong" and lets the participants engage in out-of-the-box thinking where innovative ideas live. We then converge to the most appropriate ideas with selected criteria to move forward.
