The Institute sees its mission to promote innovation and the progressive development of education in the Russian Federation. The strategic goal of "Informatica" is to strengthen the Institute's role as a leading research institution, the Ministry of Education of Russia, capable to fully meet the growing socio-economic and consumer needs of education and science in modern and advanced information technology by: - the development of a common base of scientific and educational telecommunications, computing and information protection; - creation, development and support of integrated information technology and information-analytical infrastructure "Electronic Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation"; - design and development of electronic information-educational environments for different levels of education to ensure the effective use of ICT to improve the efficiency of the educational process, control the acquired knowledge and skills, the use of distance learning; - development of information technology and methodological support for vocational training programs in the field of ICT for employees in management and teachers, as well as for the preparation of technical personnel for innovative industries; - development and implementation of business activities to help meet consumer demands of education and science in modern and advanced information technology, electronic resources and means.
