Silviculture Research International is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of sustainable forestry and forest conservation. We work with a large number of partners and stakeholders, and our portfolio has an international perspective and reach. We are widely recognised for innovative approaches to individual projects and assignments. Founded in 1998, Silviculture Research International has stayed true to its original ethos that "the forest is our laboratory". We are a science-led and multi-disciplinary organisation, and remain committed to sustaining, enhancing and conserving forests and woodland resources. Our goal is to learn from nature, and advocate practices that are in harmony and as close to nature as possible. Silviculture Research International believes in the social and cultural importance of woodlands, and works to promote sustainable systems of governance and engagement across the community. Without involving people, it is not possible to save and protect many of our most fragile and important forested ecosystems. We also understand that forests play an important role in our own health and well-being. Known as a "progressive" forestry practice, Silviculture Research International offers dynamic, multi-disciplinary solutions in basic and applied forest sciences, in evidence-based practice, and in learning and teaching. In addition, we are skilled in forest policy formulation and frequently called on to contribute to consultations and reviews.
