SimpleAir is an inventor owned technology licensing company with interests and Intellectual Property assets in the smartphone, wireless content delivery, mobile application, messaging and push notifications market spaces dating to early 1996 . The SimpleAir patent portfolio is widely licensed in the smartphone industry, including by industry leader Apple for it's Apple Push Notification Service, by Microsoft and by Research in Motion for its Blackberry product. In January of 2014 Google was found guilty in a jury trial of infringing the SimpleAir patents and in March of 2014 a jury awarded SimpleAir $85 million for Goolgle's infringement by its Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) and Android Cloud to Device Messaging (C2DM) services. These services are used by Google to process and send push notifications for Android applications
