Simply Helping is an organization dedicated to modifying homes to encourage independent living for people with physical and sensory disabilities that live, work and participate in their local community; Our team works with recipient(s) to design and renovate non-functional, non-barrier free homes. Occupational therapists and builders work together with families, therapists, case manager, other builders, interior designers to create an accessible, barrier free home. Benefiting from our experience and knowledge of recipients diagnosis, prognosis and adaptive equipment needs, we provide a complete home renovation or small modifications tailored to enable recipient to live their lives to their fullest potential and purpose. Simply Helping coordinates with local construction contractors, and other various companies in the building trade to ensure the functional needs of people with disabilities are adequately addressed. The materials and labor are donated. Many skilled and unskilled volunteers assist in the rapid renovation of the home. The family backstory is an important component of Simply Helping it must meet two criteria: First, they must be in truly need of the renovation, and second, they must be the kind of person who gives something of themselves back to their community. The main theme of "Simply Helping" is advocacy , as each individual that is selected helps address a wide range of issues in American Society.
