Simpraxis Architects Details
Our practice was established in 2003. We have won several recognitions in international and local competitions including two first prizes in european competitions for cultural insitutions. We were also selected to represent Cyprus at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Our work ranges from the urban scale to single unit housing and from interiors to product design. Build work has been published locallly and abroad. We are interested in engaging in an architect/client dialogue that can encourage the redefinition of programmatic and spatial norms, leading to imaginative ideas and forms. These can generate a unique project in terms of its materiality and formal articulation; a product of the specifics derived from site and client and program. Use of contemporary materials is an integral part of the process, both in the more abstract definition of space but also in the more practical aim of creating a comfortable environment. Passive means of comfort, regulating light and temperature, become an essential part of the architecture: they help to define the final product and not hinder it.
