Sir Abdool Raman Osman State College (SARO SC) was founded in 1996 as the Royal College of Phoenix and was later renamed after Sir Abdool Raman Osman, the first Governor-General of Mauritius.SARO SC is among the best schools across the country, admitting only students having achieved excellent results in the CPE examinations, and preparing them for the Cambridge O Level and A Level.Our students consistently rank among the top performers at numerous competitions/events such as:- World Crossminton Championships (2019 Champions)- National Mathematics Olympiad (2016 Champions)- All African Badminton School Championship (Bronze medallists, 2014 & 2015)- Inter-College Football Tournament (2014 regional Vice-Champions)- Rajiv Gandhi Science Quest (2010 national Champions)- Zonal, National, and International Model UN Conferences (Numerous Best Delegates, Best Delegations, Chairpersons and Secretary-Generals throughout the years)- National Youth Parliament (Numerous MPs and mentors, all editions)- ‘Concours de Langue Française' of the Alliance Française (Numerous 1st and 2nd prizes throughout the years)- Australian Mathematics Competition (Numerous Prize Winners throughout the years)To date, we are the only school in Mauritius to have ever produced a recipient of the Pearson Scholarship from the University of Toronto (full scholarship awarded to 37 students worldwide) and are the first school in the history of the country to have had a Computer Science Laureate.Our graduates have gone on to pursue further studies from a spectrum of fields, ranging from STEM to Humanities, at prestigious universities across the globe: in Canada, Germany, France, UK, USA, Australia, Netherlands, Malaysia, China, India, South Africa, and of course Mauritius.[Please see our Wikipedia page for a complete overview: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_Abdool_Raman_Osman_State_College]
