The Sir Brian Bell Foundation is a proud Papua New Guinean based Foundation and as the name suggests links to the great man and businessman Sir Brian Bell, CSM, KBE, CStJ. The Foundation has been established as a legacy to Sir Brian's love for Papua New Guinea and his desire to give back to the country he loved so much. Sir Brian Bell while an exceptionally tough business person, had a reputation for being one of Papua New Guinea's renowned philanthropists. The Sir Brian Bell Foundation has a desire to inspire the people of Papua New Guinea. This inspiration is driven from a historical connection to both Health and Education. The Sir Brian Bell Foundation was proud to launch the Youth Blood Drive on World Blood Donor Day, 14 June 2016. Like many things in life, education begins when we are children and the learning never stops throughout life. A healthy body is linked to numerous elements, including how we interact with others, but many people in PNG have never been fortunate enough to receive the right health information. The Sir Brian Bell Foundation (SBBF) and the Port Moresby General Hospital (PMGH) have joined forces to launch a new Blood Donation and Health Awareness Campaign: Youth Blood Drive. The program is aimed at getting the youth of PNG, those aged 16-25 to engage is social responsibility and become life time blood donors supporting their communities. Those involved will also receive a mini physical examination each time they donate which will give them an insight in their general health as well as a health education program which will teach students ways to stay healthy and protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases all while saving the lives of those who desperately need safe blood.
