Military - Tampa, Florida, United States
SIUVA is non-profit Veterans outreach initiative. We aim to combine all the singular Veteran outreach movements around the country together under one roof. This will allow for the ease of informational and educational access in a central hub that will grant all Veterans and spouses the resources they need for a successful transition back into civilian society. We will be traveling the US and interviewing transitioning military service people and spouses in order to shed light on the psychological, emotional and spiritual problems that are causing many Veterans issues everyday. The inability for a lot of Vets to redefine themselves in this society, post-military service, leads to enormous problems including alcohol/substance abuse, domestic violence, self-mutilation, and even suicide at the rate of 22 people a day. Through writing and talk therapy, all Veterans, no matter their Branch, MOS, or military tenure will have access to the resources and assistance they need to take control of their own self-discovery. This will also help us raise awareness to the inefficiencies of programs currently offered while bridging the gap that a lack of target market penetration and capital acquisition by current Veteran Outreach Initiatives are being plagued by.
