The Utah Ski and Snowboard Association was founded in 1975, devoting its efforts to the growth and advancement of the winter sports industry within the state of Utah. Its purpose is to assist fellow members of the Association and the state's tourism industry in providing the highest standards of service and facilities; to stimulate the growth and expansion of the winter sports industry within the State; to encourage public laws and policies which will be beneficial to winter sports activities; and to promote the use of winter sports facilities within the state of Utah, the nation and the world. Our membership represents resorts, lodging, transportation, retail, restaurants and other ski or snowboard related services. The Utah Ski and Snowboard Association is governed by a 21-member board of directors elected from its membership.Ski Utah is a marketing company owned and operated by the Utah Ski and Snowboard Association. Ski Utah is also the brand name by which both organizations are commonly referred. The mission of Ski Utah is to create brand awareness of and demand for the Utah ski and snowboard industry services and products. The organization publishes an annual magazine, distributed to 175,000 skiers and snowboarders each season. SkiUtah.com contains the most comprehensive collection of resort and traveler information about Utah skiing and snowboarding in the world as well as providing dynamic and engaging content through written word, photos and video. The Official Ski Utah Snow Report, a comprehensive accounting of daily snowfall data from all 14 Utah resorts, is compiled early each morning by dedicated staff and distributed to media outlets and snowriders around the world via the latest technology including websites, iPhone/iPad and Android apps, email and text messaging, blogs, Facebook, Twitter and other social media tools. Together, these companies employ a staff of nine full-time employees with an average annual budget of approximately $3 million.
