Beijing SkyFilm Ltd. focuses on making animated pictures and operates across the entire value chain of the film industry. We are committed to creating content that carries strong originality, creativity and concept, and building a "superhero universe" rooted in the spirit of oriental culture. We currently have several S-level projects in the making. Headquartered in Beijing, Beijing SkyFilm Ltd. is fully owned by Beijing SkyFilm Entertainment Group. The Group encompasses multiple subsidiaries, including Beijing SkyFilm Ltd., SkyFilm Investment Fund, Lantern Film, Film Derivative Merchandising Company, operating in the full spectrum of the entertainment business. Beijing SkyFilm Ltd. consists of two studios specializing in oriental myths and swordsman stories respectively. In 2016, we launched three animated film projects: Four Monkeys: The Journey to the West, Magical Hero and Swordsman, standing out at the industry's forefront with distinctive story backgrounds, record-breaking budget and world-renowned teams. Since 2017, we have been focusing on developing original animated films based on adaptation from well-established literature. In the meantime, our Lantern Film branch is dedicated to promoting and distributing genre and arthouse films, with successful previous projects such as Paths of the Soul and Himalaya: Ladder to Paradise. In 2015, we successfully released 3D animation feature film Monkey King: Hero is Back, the box office of which has achieved record breaking USD 147 million - still the highest of all Chinese animated films till now. In the same year, Himalaya: Ladder to Paradise also broke the record for Chinese humanistic documentary with over USD 2 million box office. In 2017, Paths of the Soul became another box-office hit with USD 16 million, marking a new milestone for China's arthouse film. It also received the honor of "The Best 10 Chinese Films of the Year"by Asia Weekly.
