SM Jones represents 4 family farms, that together solely own the company. In produce, that is pretty rare. It's either giant marketing companies or small family farms - we think we've found the sweet spot. The conveniences of dealing with one company and rep, while still getting all the advantages of knowing you're getting quality produce, grown by American farms on land they actually own. Here's some quick bullet points:o We farm about 15,000 acres in FL, GA, OH, NY o We also own warehouses/shipping points in all of those states o In Florida, we own arguably the warmest land farmed in the US. In Homestead FL - as close as 3 miles from the warm Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. This land has only froze 1 TIME in 30 YEARS - allowing us to almost always have produce available. o In the Summer months, we farm simultaneously in the Finger lakes in NY, and in OH. Keeping us spread out and safe from weather. o Our group also owns 150, refrigerated over the road trucks. We farm a variety of items, but focus on sweet corn and cabbage - however in OH and NY we farm over 100 items including leafy greens, pumpkins, squash and more.
