Sock Monkeys Against Cancer:SMAC! is a gang of philanthropic sock monkeys that provides comfort to those with cancer - reminding them no one fights it alone.The Big Why:Founded by Jennifer Windrum, SMAC! was inspired by her Mom's battle with lung cancer (no, she never smoked). Cancer can be a very lonely existence. Family and friends can't always be there. Jennifer's Mom lived more than 1,200 miles away, making her appointments, tests, scan results and treatments that much harder for both of them. So, Jennifer created SMAC! — to give her Mom a "buddy" she could hug during her daughter's absence.SMAC! is a startup with lofty ambitions - to do good and create good at the same time:1. Provide Tangible Comfort: Constant comfort, sock monkey "mojo" and a cancer-crushing buddy to those moving through their cancer journey.2.
