The SLBSA was established to promote the business interests of its Primary Members in municipal procurement and local government sponsored construction and development projects. We seek to cultivate direct engagement between our members and specification and procurement decision makers. We put purpose into practice thru direct lobbying efforts. The aim is to hold private and public sector decision makers accountable for procurement directives. The SLBSA was founded with the conviction that small local business is the cornerstone of our urban cities' financial prosperity. Engagement with small local businesses helps municipalities keep its tax base in the city. It also affords its local business community the opportunity to build capacity, create new jobs, and in so doing, carve pathways to the middle class for its residents.
