Research - Toronto, Ontario, Canada
A University of Toronto research lab, affiliated with Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering.Smart and adaptive materials are emerging class of materials that possess unique properties and multi-functionality, including the ability to sense and respond to different stimuli, such as electrical, magnetic, mechanical, thermal, optical, and biological, in a prescribed fashion. Our lab focuses on Smart and Adaptive Polymers & Composites. Our research interests include advanced manufacturing technology of these materials, characterization of their properties, correlation of morphological variations with properties, and multiphysics analytical and numerical modeling of these materials systems. The research on these materials and their properties is advancing and improving current technologies in a variety of fields such as health care, energy, and manufacturing.
