Smart Works is an independent self-funded charity with branches in North and West London, Manchester, Birmingham, Reading and Newcastle. We have supported over 600 women in Edinburgh since we opened in 2014. Our clients come from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and age groups. To be eligible for the Smart Works service all we require is that the woman attending has a job interview. We give our clients a complete outfit of clothes and accessories as well as advice on presentation. We also provide one-to-one interview training delivered by experienced volunteers. Once a woman has a job, we invite her for a second dressing to complement her work wardrobe. Our goal- is for every client to leave Smart Works after a two-hour session believing that she can and will succeed. Our service depends on loyal regular volunteers and volunteers from partners such as Lloyds and RBS. We are also supported by retailers such as Burberry, Hobbs, Marks & Spencer, and Evans.It is our mission to take this fantastic service to as many women as possible, whilst maintaining the impact and quality of our service.
