Smith Overseas has been established by Henk Smith who after 10 years at sea and several operational, commercial and general management roles at Smit Internationale decided in 2012 to start his own consultancy company. Smith Overseas provides marine expertise to those interested in investing or expanding in the maritime industry. The expertise is consisting of : - Market consultation and market sounding - Selection of International partners - Operational expertise of activities related to eg offshore operations, harbour and terminal towage - Organisational expertise of maritime organisations - Specific knowledge of the areas Africa, Middle East, South America and Russia - Specific knowledge of oil and gas industry (related to Maritime services) Smith Overseas has been in 2016 involved in the following projects: - Market Consultation & Sounding: investment readiness in survey vessel South African Maritime Safety Authority via EY South Africa - Tender and procurement of a harbour tug for Port of Berbera via (MTBS) - Market Consultattion for Wagenborg Offshore - Market Consultation for Ampelmann Operations - Market knowledge to support investors in their invest decisions Smith Overseas is participating in: - OCRS; www.ocrs.eu - Marine Masters; www.marinemasters.nl Henk Smith has established Smith Overseas Investments BV for small investments in innovative and disruptive companies in the Maritime industry.
